Reloadium Weather combines two powerful open technologies:

  • Open-Meteo free weather API — hourly forecasts up to 16 days, including temperature, precipitation probability, wind speed, cloud cover and relative humidity
  • Google Gemini AI — analyses the raw forecast arrays and reasons about activity suitability, scoring windows and estimating optimal duration
  • All data is fetched client-side at request time — no weather data is stored on our servers
  • Analysis results and location preferences are stored locally in IndexedDB for instant access
  • Firebase Authentication secures the credit-deduction flow via the Reloadium /api/hello proxy

Privacy & Data

We take your privacy seriously:

  • Location names and coordinates are stored only in your browser's IndexedDB — never on our servers
  • Weather data is fetched directly from Open-Meteo — we do not proxy or log it
  • AI prompts include weather arrays and activity names only — no personal data
  • Unit and theme preferences are stored in localStorage on your device
  • We use Firebase Authentication for secure, privacy-respecting user management

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I share an analysis with someone?
Yes — tap the share icon on any result card or the share button at the activity header to share all top slots at once. The analysis is compressed into a URL that recipients can open directly. Received shared analyses are stored in your inbox so you can browse and compare them at any time.
Is Reloadium Weather free to use?
New users receive a small credit allowance to try the AI analysis. Each 'New Analysis' run costs a few credits. You can purchase credit packs or a subscription from your account page.
How accurate are the weather forecasts?
Forecasts come from Open-Meteo, which sources data from multiple high-resolution NWP models (ECMWF, GFS, etc.). Accuracy decreases beyond 5–7 days, so treat the later days as indicative.
How does the AI score activity windows?
Gemini AI receives the raw hourly arrays for temperature, wind, precipitation and cloud cover, plus your activity name. It reasons about activity-specific requirements (e.g. low wind for stargazing, moderate temperature for hiking) and assigns a 0–100 suitability score.
Can I add activities in my own language?
Yes — use the 'Add custom activity' field in any language. The AI will still reason correctly about it as long as the activity is recognisable.
Why does the hour-by-hour strip sometimes show no data?
The strip is populated from the hourly weatherData fetched when you run an analysis. If you clear your browser data or view a very old saved run, the underlying forecast may have expired.
How many locations can I add?
There is no hard limit — add as many cities as you like. Each location's data is stored separately in IndexedDB.
